Lviv does not wait for permission to have a fashion week. From 23 to 25 October the city opened its studios, filled Barvy Event Hall on Melnyka Street, and started the season at LYRA, where Fedir Vozianov built a collection in front of his audience.

The programme ran under the line "Fashion with Purpose." Talks and lectures were entered with a donation, and Charitable Foundation 24 raised money through the week for the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade, the unit where Ihor Fedoriv, a long-time Lviv Fashion Week photographer, now serves. The shows themselves stayed invitation only.

## Friday · Open Studio Day

The week began behind the scenes. Instead of a runway, guests were let into the ateliers: Linni Caro opened its studio in the afternoon, and Starchak followed at five, a day before its runway show.

In the evening Vozianov opened the season at LYRA with a premise most designers would avoid in public. He built the collection live, working through a construction system he has spent ten years refining, in which the complexity of a garment comes from the precision of a single decision rather than from more seams and more operations. The audience watched process, not product.

## Saturday · Talks, then the runway

Saturday afternoon belonged to ideas. Vozianov sat down for a public talk, "What is the Fashion Today," moderated by Maryna Loseva of Ukrainian Fashion Education Group, who then gave a lecture of her own on the signals shaping the next fashion cycle.

Five labels were on the evening's running order at Barvy: Marta Striletska, ANK design, Starchak, Andreas Moskin and Chernikova.

Then the lights went down. The first walk of the afternoon worked Ukrainian embroidery into everything: roses and wildflowers stitched across ivory knit and plum leather, turbans in silk and jersey, faux fur shaggy enough to swallow a model in pink or storm grey, fringe swinging below the hem. One of the men walked on a prosthetic leg with a crutch, in a long embroidered robe, and he walked it like everyone else.

Between shows the looks spilled out into the foyer, still in their turbans and embroidery.

### Starchak

Sat 24.10 · 18:30 · Barvy Event Hall. Label page: https://aftershowmag.com/designers/starchak

A day after opening its studio, Starchak brought the collection to the runway, its name projected behind the models. The line ran on contrast. A khaki jersey top, ruched down the centre, went over black pinstripe bloomers and knee socks. A dusty pink blouse with a bow the size of a scarf came with ruffled shorts to match. Black tailoring was cut loose and worn open over a lace bra and track trousers.

Clear wraparound glasses and a navy track jacket, with a studded belt slung across one thigh, pulled it towards the street. At the end the whole cast stood in one white wash of light.

### Andreas Moskin

Sat 24.10 · 19:30 · Barvy Event Hall. Label page: https://aftershowmag.com/designers/andreas-moskin

Andreas Moskin's name ran across the back wall, and the collection matched it for confidence: chalk-stripe tailoring worn open at the neck, a black fur hat pulled down over the eyes, a gold jacquard coat carried with a single red rose. One model walked with an armful of white and green flowers, another trailed a boa of green feathers down her back, and the softest look of the night was a blush satin column dress edged in black.

### Chernikova

Sat 24.10 · 20:30 · Barvy Event Hall. Label page: https://aftershowmag.com/designers/chernikova

Chernikova closed Saturday with its diamond emblem lit on the wall. The look we caught: a black sleeveless dress with a high collar, its front scattered with embroidered flowers in pink, white and red, worn with nothing more than a low ponytail.

## In the foyer

The best-dressed people at Barvy were not all on the runway. Between shows the foyer wall became a backdrop: grey tailoring over red brocade trousers, a sharp ivory blazer, black halter necks and long gloves, chocolate suiting cut to a deep V.

## Sunday · The graduates and the finale

The last day started with the next generation. Six graduates of the Department of Clothing Design at the Lviv National Academy of Arts showed their final collections: Yulia Ben, Yulia Brenio, Andriy Moskva, Maria Ivaniychuk, Iryna Kviatkovska and Volodymyr Lukan. Their names are worth learning now.

Olesya Marchuk and Biman followed. Balossa came back from Italy for another season, which says something about how Lviv is seen from outside: as a place worth the trip. Vbrana by Svitlana Mykytyuk closed the week.

Lviv Fashion Week returns in spring for the AW 2027 season. We will be there.
